The book, "Trinity Church Bicentennial Celebration," by Rev. Morgan Dix, 1897, New York. This is a commemorative book designed by Tiffany and Company for the Rectors, Church Wardens, and Vestrymen of the Trinity Church Parish of New York on the 200th anniversary of the founding of the church, May 5th, 1897. Please note: This is not a paper book, it is a scan of the original paper book into the digital Adobe PDF format, written on a CD-ROM. You read this book on your computer using the free Adobe Reader software. It is a digital version of a hard to find book. If you could find a copy of the 1897 printed book, it would be very expensive.
This beautifully illustrated book was designed by Tiffany & Co., for the Rev. Dix for distribution to the churchmen of the churches of Trinity Parish, New York. There were very few published. It consists of a schedule of the services for May 5th, 1897, the sermon by the Rector, a history of the churches of Trinity Parish, illustrations of the past Rector's of the church, and illustrations of the various church building of the parish. Of particular beauty are some of the pages that divide the various sections of the book, illustrated with wonderful calligraphy by Tiffany - some with vibrant red and gold components.
The 8" X 10" book has 67 pages, approximately half of them are black & white illustrations. The color and B&W illustrations were carefully scanned at high resolution. Please note: This is a scan of the original book converted to Adobe PDF format and written on a CD ROM.
